Donovan is in the Class of 2017 at Duke University majoring in Biology and Environmental Science and Policy. While spending a semester at the Duke Marine Lab, he learned about Community-based Conservation by joining the travel class in the Gulf of Mexico. He furthered his interest back at the Marine lab, analyzing surveys collected from fishing communities in the Gulf, in an attempt to develop indicators of social resilience in small-scale fisheries.
