About the speaker: Dr. Keia Sanderson is an Pediatric Nephrologist and Pediatric Dialysis Director at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. She is originally from Charlotte, NC. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, the University of South Carolina for her pediatric residency training, and Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri for her pediatric nephrology fellowship. She most recently completed her Masters of Science in Clinical Research at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Public Health.
In her role as an NIH funded clinician researcher, she is interested in the Developmental Origins of Health and Development work identifying early life exposures which impact pediatric kidney health. She is currently focused on identifying risk factors for pediatric kidney disease after preterm birth to improve earlier recognition of kidney disease in preterm born children. She is also focused on the use AI methods to support clinical decision support for pediatric kidney disease.
