Dr. Lee Ferguson, PI of the DUSRC Analytical Chemistry Core (ACC), and Dr. Abbey Joyce, Manager of the ACC, recently published research in the journal Environmental Science & Technology Letters about how very small “precursor” PFAS from industrial sources, which do not show up in standard PFAS analysis, can break down during the wastewater treatment process into different, better-known, PFAS compounds.
