Medical Insurance
All international students are required to be enrolled in a commercial medical insurance plan and this is currently managed by ISS International Students Services Office of Student Affairs.
You will be required to maintain comprehensive medical insurance that covers any possible injuries and illnesses while studying at DKU through one of the options below:
- Have Chinese social insurance in your hometown,
- Purchase DKU commercial insurance plan,
- Waive this insurance by providing proof of another insurance plan that provides inpatient and outpatient care coverage in Mainland China.
You will be invited to fill out an online survey before arriving on campus. Several survey questions will be used to indicate your insurance choice or sign the waiver form. Please find out more information on the Campus Health Clinic website: https://www.dukekunshan.edu.cn/clinic/health-insurance/
International SOS(ISOS)

International Student Services (ISS) works in conjunction with the University Registrar to provide visa information and support to international students. We work with The Bureau of Exit-Entry Administration to ensure the smooth processing of student visas, temporary residence permits, and residence registration for all students, both domestic Chinese and international.
In addition to helping students with their legal onboarding requirements, International Student Services provides an array of university programs aimed at helping international students integrate with DKU, Kunshan, and the surrounding areas. Programs offered through this area allow for cross-cultural interaction between the extremely diverse student body at DKU.
