In October 2017, the NSEC organized a career trek to Austin, Texas where students were able to learn about the renewable energy industry in Texas, while also connecting with local alumni.
Companies and organizations visited included:
- Pecan Street
- The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT)
- Austin Energy
- ZPryme
- The Lower Colorado River Authority
- Parsley Energy, NRG, and
- University of Texas Professors Michael Webber & Juan Torres at the Austin Energy Institute.
