Yuanyuan’s interdisciplinary research interests center on how changes in ocean processes and climate affect ocean biogeochemistry and the ecosystem. Yuanyuan received her bachelor’s and PhD degrees from Hohai University and a master’s degree from Sun Yat-sen University. Utilizing extensive datasets sourced from satellites, profiling floats, ships, and model outputs, her research involves exploring the variability of air-sea CO2 gas exchange, physical controls on phytoplankton, and trace metal dynamics in the coastal regions. Yuanyuan aims to make her research valuable to a range of stakeholders addressing the impacts of climate change on ocean ecosystems. During her spare time, she enjoys swimming, jogging, and cooking.
