Evan Lim

Degree: Master of Environmental Management

About: Evan (he/him) is a first-year Master of Environmental Management candidate. He graduated from Columbia University with a degree in English and Sustainable Development. Having spent a few years writing for a sustainability-focused engineering firm, Evan has come back to school to up his technical and quantitative skills to contribute to similar projects in a more direct manner. All that being said, writing is still a big part of his life, and he’s always happy to assist others and collaborate closely on the challenging but rewarding process of developing clear and compelling communication.

Mary Corrigan

Degree: Master of Environmental Management

Concentration: Business and Environment, Energy and Environment

Consultant Strengths: Professional writing

About: Mary is a second-year Master of Environmental Management student. She also serves as a Careers Fellow with CPDC. Prior to coming to Duke, Mary received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science degree from Villanova University just outside of Philadelphia, PA. Mary began her work as a tutor as a Writing Center Tutor at Villanova, and is excited to continue learning in this space. Mary also works for the Career and Professional Development Center at the Nicholas School and has learned extensively about professional writing in the process. 


Humayra Rahman

Consultant Strengths: ESG and sustainability disclosure research, professional writing, application materials

About: Humayra is a Master of Environmental Management student at Duke, graduating in 2027. She came to Duke with a degree in Environmental Science and a few years of experience in agri-tech, where she led research on smallholder agriculture and helped publish the organization’s first impact report. Over the summer of 2026, she worked as a Stanback Fellow at Population Connection, building K-12 curricula, and she continues as a research assistant at the Nicholas Institute, benchmarking ESG and biodiversity disclosure across ocean industries. Along the way, she’s written a lot of reports, summaries, and application materials, and she’s happy to help others do the same.


Sofía Velázquez Sierra (DUML)

Degree: Master of Environmental Management

Concentration: Coastal and Marine Systems, Community-Engaged Environmental Justice 

Consultant Strengths: Research/ scientific papers, resume and CV, cover letters, presentations

About: Sofía (she/her) is a first-year Master of Environmental Management candidate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico. Sofía has experience in detailed scientific writing for peer-reviewed publication, résumé and CV development, and presentation design. She is fully bilingual, with Spanish as her first language. She enjoys outdoor activities, especially those she can do with her dog, Neo. Sofía is happy to support writing processes by providing feedback at all stages!
