On Friday, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) denied six applications to conduct seismic surveys with air guns in Atlantic waters. This puts a stop, at least for now, to efforts to conduct seismic testing in the Atlantic and helps to safeguard the endangered North Atlantic right whale, together with other vulnerable marine biota.
