Seven undergraduates at the Duke Marine Laboratory working as independent study researches participated on the POWOW1 research cruise lead by the Johnson Lab. Each student had their own project that was integral to the success of the overall cruise. Today, each of the seven students (Erin, Michael, Katrina, Caroline, Allie, Heather and Emily) presented their results from the projects. Overall each found significant variability in the phytoplankton populations or environmental variables across the cruise transect or in response to experimental changes in temperature. All of the presentations were excellent and their combined results are being compiled for publication. Congratulations to all of the students!
