The Johnson Lab travelled to Knoxville, TN to work on a joint experiment led by our colleagues from the Zinser Lab at UT Knoxville. The goal of the experiment is to look at the hourly patterns of carbon uptake and its fate into metabolites over the course of the day in the model marine cyanobacteria Prochlorococcus. We sampled every 2 hours for over 24 hours to see how these rates change over the course a natural day/night cycle. That makes for a long day, but the results are worth it!
