Forest Team

The Forest Restoration Team aims to help restore forest ecosystems in novel and more efficient ways, engaging with local organizations in Durham and the surrounding area. Our goal is for team members to gain restoration experience, expand their professional development, and engage with partners. Currently the team is collaborating with the North Carolina Invasive Plant Council on identifying and mapping incidence of invasive fig buttercup (ficaria verna), the Duke Forest on shortleaf pine restoration site selection, the Triangle Connectivity Collaborative on habitat connectivity mapping and planning in Durham, and the Urban Community Agronomics (UCAN) on native plant identification and education.
