Spring Event Roundup

It’s been a wild and wonderful time at the Nicholas School! (And with commencement just around the corner, there’s more to come.) Here are some spring highlights:

  • On March 31 and April 1, almost 170 prospective MEM, MF and dual-degree students joined us on campus for Admitted Students Visitation Weekend – the largest group in recent memory and the most diverse. Here’s a video look at the weekend’s focus and some of the amazing students we hope we’ve convinced to join our community.

  • On April 7 and 8, more than 200 Nic alumni and their guests returned to campus for our annual Alumni Reunion Weekend. Graduates from near and far mingled with current students, faculty and staff and entertained each other with tales of their work as agents of environmental change in government, business and the nonprofit world. This video and photo album capture some of the weekend’s highlights.

  • On April 14 and 15, 160 Nic students presented their individual or group master’s projects (MPs) on topics ranging from elephant conservation to water finance, and from urban energy efficiency to new harvesting regimes for Duke Forest. Their presentations are the culmination of two years of rigorous study and training, and represent a major milestone in their professional lives. The Alumni Council hosted a lunch to welcome these students into the Nicholas alumni family and encourage them to stay connected with Nicholas and Duke.

  • May 12-14 is Graduation Weekend! If you will be in the area, come celebrate this milestone with our soon-to-be newest alumni! Find schedule/details here.
