ZIJ presents on using molecular tools to probe biogeochemistry at Cornell

As part of the IGERT in Cross-Scale Biogeochemistry and Climate (CSBC), ZIJ gave a talk at Cornell University titled “Using molecular tools to better understand the ecology and biogeochemistry of marine phytoplankton”  The talk, part of the Biogeochemistry and Environmental Science and Sustainability seminar series, focused on the Johnson lab’s recent developments in using molecular tools, including qPCR, RT-qPCR and large library analyses of rDNA and rRNA, to estimate the activity and growth rates of ecologically distinct genetic clades of Prochlorococcus. Some of that work is highlighted in recent publications from our group.
