ZIJ & Yajuan Lin present at Ocean Sciences 2012 in Salt Lake City

Zackary Johnson and Yajuan Lin both presented in the Biodiversity session organized by ZIJ and collaborator Maureen Coleman from the University of Chicago at the bi-annual Ocean Sciences meeting held in Salt Lake City, Utah.  The title of Yajuan’s talk was ‘Estimating the growth rate and biogeochemistry of genetically diverse Prochlorococcus using rRNA/rDNA ratios‘ and Zackary’s presentation was titled ‘The molecular diversity and biogeography of Prochlorococcus: the dominant open ocean photosynthetic microbe‘  ZIJ also represented Duke University at the ASLO multicultural program, which is designed to encourage participation of under-represented groups in the ocean sciences.
