Friday, May 10 Acknowledgement of PhD Graduates; RSVP to attend Love Auditorium, LSRC WING B,  West Campus > MAP 3:00-4:30pm All Nicholas School doctoral degree candidates – PhD, MA and MS  Tickets not required. Parking available in Circuit  Lot > MAP

Only September 2018, December 2018 and May 2019 graduates are allowed to participate in the NS Recognition ceremony and process with candidates (on Saturday, May 11 at 9:00am).


  • PhD Hooding Ceremony: Tickets are required and students are encouraged to invite family and friends. The Graduate School sends information about ticket distribution to graduates in early spring. More info available here.
  • Official Ph.D. diplomas will be distributed during the hooding ceremony. If you are not attending the ceremony, you will be able to pick up your diploma beginning May 13 through May 17 from 8:30am to 5:00pm at the Graduate School.
  • Graduation apparel is required for all ceremonies.
  • If special accommodations are needed for the ceremony or reception on Saturday, May 11, contact Cindy Peters no later than April 15.
