Stay connected to the school and fellow alumni
The Nicholas School hosts events throughout the year, both stateside and internationally, to bring together alumni of different ages and career stages to connect professionally and personally. In addition to our annual alumni reunion on campus, regional groups and networking socials offer great ways to connect. To stay connected and hear about events, visit our news and events website, and be sure to register and update your information on the Duke Alumni Association (DAA) network.
Join Toddi Steelman PhD’96, Stanback Dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment, alongside fellow Nicholas School faculty and alumni to learn more about the importance of their research into marine ecosystems, conservation and governance.
Oceans support the richest biodiversity on the planet providing protein-rich food to much of the world, as well as a source of energy, raw materials, and place of solace and enjoyment to many. However, oceans are one of our most threatened environments—perhaps, in part, because of our dependence on them.
The forward-thinking work being done at the Nicholas School continues to yield solutions to our oceans’ greatest challenges—balancing human needs with conservation efforts, and providing science-based policy recommendations to protect these treasures. Experience the Aquarium in new ways while enjoying educational sessions offered throughout the evening with faculty from Duke’s Marine Lab and the Nicholas School as well as Duke alumni working in the field of marine sciences.
Heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bar and soft drinks will be served.
This event is co-sponsored by The Nicholas School of the Environment, the Duke University Marine Lab, the Office of University Development, and Duke Alumni Association.
