As Duke Forward campaign enters final months, boosting financial aid is top priority.

Can you help us top $100 million?

The seven-year, university-wide Duke Forward campaign wraps up on June 30th, and by any measure, the Nicholas School’s portion of the campaign has been a huge success. Associate Dean Kevin McCarthy reports that, as of January 1st, the Nicholas community has contributed over $92 million during campaign – far outpacing our original, $55 million goal. In fact, as Duke President Richard Brodhead has noted, Nicholas one of the first schools at Duke to surpass its fundraising goal for Duke Forward! Thank you for making this success possible.

But we can’t afford to rest on our laurels. For the next few months, our priority is on increasing the school’s financial aid resources (scholarships and fellowships) so that we can provide better access and opportunity to deserving students, compete successfully with our peer institutions for the best candidates, and ensure that our graduates leave Duke with more manageable, if any, debt.

While our new $25 million Financial Aid Initiative will extend beyond the campaign’s end, we really want to finish strong by pushing the Nicholas School’s campaign total over the $100 million mark by June 30th. If you are able to help us across the finish line through a gift to financial aid, Annual Fund or to any area of the school that interests you, please give Kevin a call at 919-613-8003, email him at kevin.p.mccarthy@duke.edu or donate online.
