Session 1: Alumni, don’t miss this chance to hear from and bid farewell to a highly esteemed member of the Duke community:  Mike Orbach, Professor of the Practice of Marine Affairs and Policy and former director of the Duke Marine Lab.

Sharing personal insights and lessons learned from many years as an expert on social science and policy in coastal and marine environments, Mike will address modern challenges at the human/ocean interface: How has our relationship with marine environments changed throughout his career? In an ideal future, what must be done to maintain, improve and properly manage our relationships with the oceans,  and what will be the key issues facing oceans (and the people living near and working with them) in the next few decades?

Session 2: Details forthcoming. Stay tuned!!

Light hors d’oeuvres included.
