I am broadly interested in the role of science in informing evidence-based policy across scales of fisheries management, ranging from local fisheries in North Carolina to international fisheries agreements. While at Duke I worked on a variety of fisheries projects, including electronic vessel monitoring, human-dimension of fishing-dependent communities, and non-profit small-scale fisheries engagement strategies. I also worked as the Ocean and Coastal Policy Intern at the Nicholas Institute. Prior to coming to Duke to study coastal management, I lived in a wetsuit in the streams of Oahu working as a field tech and traveled around Sri Lanka where I helped coordinate a study abroad program for undergraduate students.
