Introduction to environmental effects on human health, as well as ecological health. Focus on chronic effects of exposure to pollution on key health endpoints including cancer, neurological health, reproduction and development, cardiovascular and pulmonary health, the interaction between anthropogenic environmental changes and infectious diseases, and the relationship between human health and ecosystem health. Includes lectures from a variety of experts in this field from throughout the Triangle region. Course is designed to facilitate maximum student participation through discussion. For graduate and advanced undergraduate students.
