Under the mentorship of Dr. Lisa Alvarez-Cohen, Lauren has been working on biodegradation of contamination mixtures at Superfund sites for the past three months.&nbsp;Specifically, her research focuses on the co-augmentation of <em>Pseudomonas putida<\/em> G7 and&nbsp;<em>Pseudonocardia dioxanivorans<\/em> CB1190 bacterial strains to degrade 1,4-dioxane and naphthalene co-contamination.&nbsp;While at Berkeley, she is running a set of microcosms experiments to monitor and optimize co-augmentaion. Lauren returns to Duke next month and she will present her work at the Superfund annual meeting this fall.
