Dhruv Rungta is an undergraduate at Duke, majoring in Economics, Ecology and Sustainable Development, and is a NOAA Hollings Scholar. Passionate about ecological research, some of Dhruv’s past projects include behavioral research with catta lemurs at the DLC, ruminant methanogen studies at Universidad Earth in Costa Rica and amphibian migration surveys with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. He is excited to be a part of the Silliman Lab where he is exploring crustacean behavior, currently how various morphological factors, such as shell type and size, affect boldness in yellow banded hermit crabs. Outside of research, Dhruv is an avid wildlife photographer and community organizer, working to build awareness about the importance of protecting biodiversity.
