The Career and Professional Development Center (CPDC) is seeking alumni support for the 3rd Annual “Practice Makes Perfect: The Phone Interview” program.<\/p>\n
Here is How it Works:<\/strong><\/p>\n – You agree to conduct a practice phone interview with a MEM\/MF ’15 graduate between Jan. 26-Feb. 6 Anticipated Questions & Answers:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.) Why are the interviews not based on real jobs in my company?<\/em><\/strong> 2.) How will the interview times be determined?<\/em><\/strong> 3.) What happens if I need to change the agreed upon time?<\/em><\/strong> 4.) How will I know about the student’s background and career interests?<\/em><\/strong> 5.) May I give the student feedback on their resume?<\/em><\/strong>
\n– Total meeting time for each interview is 45 minutes (30 minutes practice interview; 15 minute feedback from students)
\n– To minimize preparation time, CPDC will provide you with interview questions and a feedback form
\n– Students will email you to arrange an agreeable time for the practice phone interview<\/p>\n
\nCPDC is seeking to maximize the opportunity for as many students as possible to benefit from alumni feedback.\u00a0 Since we don’t know how many alumni and\/or students from the various career interests\/specialties will be participating, we decided to provide substantive interview questions that would be applicable to most organizations.\u00a0 Also, you are welcome to use any of your own interview questions.<\/p>\n
\nYour student will email you to arrange an agreeable time for a 45-minute session sometime between January 26th and February 6th, 2015.<\/p>\n
\nYou will contact the student directly to arrange another interview time.<\/p>\n
\nThe student will email you their resume when contacting you to schedule an interview time.<\/p>\n
\nYes.\u00a0 We welcome you to give the student feedback on any aspect of the job search process you believe would be helpful to them.<\/p>\n
