Three Nicholas School students \u2013 Sydney Fishman\u00a0MEM\u201918,\u00a0Lisa Remlinger\u00a0DEL-MEM\u201918 and\u00a0Eric Smith\u00a0MF\/MBA\u201918 \u2013 were awarded the Forever Duke Student Leadership Award by the Duke Alumni Association<\/a> (DAA) last month for their service as Alumni Council Fellows<\/a>. According to the DAA, \u201cthe honor is awarded to students of high integrity, who are strong advocates for the Duke community, and exemplify Duke\u2019s guiding principle of \u2018knowledge in the service to society\u2019 and are leaving Duke a better place than they found it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The three students were nominated for the award based on their work on the Nicholas School Alumni-Student Mentorship Program<\/a> \u2013 a pilot program designed to provide students with the ability to build professional skills and connect with alumni working in their field of interest.<\/p>\n

The Nicholas School was the only professional school with more than one recipient.<\/p>\n

I was so excited to receive the\u00a0Forever Duke Student Leadership award \u2013 I love that it brings\u00a0visibility and credibility to the mentorship program. I hope this recognition encourages more students and alumni to get involved in mentoring through the Nicholas School!\u201d \u2013 Sydney Fishman, MEM\u201918<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

All three students graduated on May 12th, where they were recognized for their achievement.<\/p>\n
