Glenda Lee &#8212; who serves as the school&#8217;s Director of Alumni Engagement and developed the Rising Tide initiative as an outgrowth of her participation in the 2012 Duke Leadership Academy &#8212; facilitated the discussion with Hill. The interview was followed by a Q&amp;A session with attendees and a reception during which Hill networked with students, staff, and faculty.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cJanet Hill gave more than a talk \u2013 we were her students in a master class of leading with integrity, utilizing position and power to help others, and the impact we can have by being solutions oriented.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\n<em>-Glenda Lee, Director of Alumni Engagement<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hill brought with her a wealth of expertise and experience on which to base her discussions on leadership and inclusion. Before her role at Hill Family Advisors, she was owner and vice president of Alexander &amp; Associates, Inc., a corporate consulting firm, as well as special assistant to the Secretary of the Army. She also serves on the boards of numerous corporations, including Dean Foods, Inc., Carlyle Group, Esquire Bank and Green4U Technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Hill sat down for a separate interview earlier in the day in which she emphasized several of the same points made later during her discussion.
