At the end of this month, four fabulous Nicholas School Alumni Council members will complete their terms. Patrick Bean MEM’08, Daniel Kolomeets-Darovsky MEM’10, Kevin Wheeler MEM’99 and Syril Pettit MEM’97 have generously volunteered their time and talents to help the Nicholas School through a period that included leadership transitions and financial challenges. With their help, the Nicholas School has come through stronger than ever.
One of the Alumni Council’s priorities over the last few years has been to increase alumni engagement with the school, most recently through the go·grow·give program. This foursome’s efforts have helped strengthen the Nic alumni community and built a foundation for ongoing efforts to ensure that our graduates benefit from their connections to the school, the university and their fellow alumni. Thank you, Patrick, Daniel, Kevin and Syril, for serving the Nicholas community so skillfully and selflessly!
The Alumni Council is a volunteer group comprised of alumni from all Nicholas degree programs who are committed to advancing the school’s mission and serving as leaders within the alumni community and as ambassadors for the school. “The Alumni Council has provided a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the school that prepared me so well for my career. I enjoyed the opportunity to engage with students and help facilitate their professional development through academic advice, job search assistance, and science and advocacy collaborations. I can’t swing a cat in Washington, D.C. without hitting a Nicholas School alum, so having that network has proven to be professionally valuable and personally satisfying.”
