QATCH Technologies was founded on a technology developed at Duke by Dr. Stefan Zauscher, Sternberg Family Professor of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, and Dr. Zehra Parlak, a postdoctoral researcher at Zauscher’s Lab. The team had been working on a pre-screening tool for biopharmaceutical drug discovery that could determine whether a formulation is injectable or if there will be viscosity-related manufacturing problems.
Upon realizing the potential of their invention, Dr. Parlak founded QATCH Technologies in 2016. QATCH requires only five microliters of a formulation for testing, and the measurement is over in five minutes with zero cleaning and priming needs.
