Nic School Alumni make memories, connections during Reunion Weekend

More than 100 Nicholas School alumni gathered at Grainger Hall on Friday and Saturday, April 12-13, to reconnect and hear more about the progress made toward the goals of both the school and the Duke Climate Commitment.

On Thursday, alumni joined the Master’s Project Symposium to learn about the professional and academic achievements of the second-year MEM, MF, and DEL-MEM students. They later heard from Lori Bennear, Stanback Dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment, as well as Toddi Steelman, Vice President and Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability, about Duke’s Commitment to Sustainability and how Nicholas School faculty and alumni are making an impact in the world.

The following day, alumni participated in a Grainger Hall brunch crawl, where they visited booths featuring the work of Nicholas School students and faculty. Some topics included forestry, fisheries, human health and the environment, and COP28. The two-day event concluded with a picnic at the Bobby Ross Shelter in Duke Forest, hosted by the Duke MEM/MBA club.
