The Nicholas School Alumni Council welcomed four new members over the summer, all of whom will work this year to support school programs and foster better relationships between alumni, the school and student body.

The four new members include Meredith Aitken MEM’96 (Powerex Corp; Vancouver, BC), Lauren Campbell MEM’11 (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; Washington, D.C.), Laura Marie Davis MEM’17 (EarthShare; Durham, NC), and Kirby Rootes-Murdy MEM’11 (Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission; Arlington, VA).

The four newcomers will join 13 other elected alumni in a collective effort to engage with students, discuss initiatives and communicate regularly with school administration throughout the year.

Priorities for the council this year will include developing programming for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day in 2020, rallying Nicholas School alumni to join and utilize the Duke Alumni Network, and developing programs to help provide alumni with more “go” and “grow” opportunities in the coming years for the school’s Go·Grow·Give alumni engagement program.

“I look forward to seeking feedback from alumni as to what the Nicholas School could do to provide for a more meaningful and accessible alumni engagement experience.  I am also excited to meet current students and help connect them with our fantastic alumni community!”
