MP and Course-Based Pathway Timeline for Fall 2025 Matriculants
Please see below for a timeline of deadlines for the pathways available to students who matriculated in Fall 2025.
Students who matriculate in Fall 2026 and beyond will have a simplified timeline, as the MP structure is transitioning. These students will default into the Course-Based Pathway for their primary MEM concentration, and opt-in to completing an MP should their Prospectus be approved.
Please note this timeline is for general planning purposes only, and the exact deadlines are subject to change.
Course-Based Pathway
- Feb. 8, 2026: Proposals due to master’s program chairs.
- Feb. 8-16, 2026: Proposals reviewed and modified as necessary.
- Feb. 16, 2026: Course-based pathways approved.
- April 13, 2026: Deadline to switch to 3S pathway – must have a willing advisor and approved work plan.
- Aug. 25, 2026: Deadline to switch to 2S pathway – must apply to be placed on a 2S team.
- Sept. 4, 2026: Final deadline to register for course-based pathway fall courses (drop/add).
Master’s Project 2S
Refer to the 2S Timeline at a Glance for the deliverable deadlines associated with this track.
- Aug. 25, 2026: Declare intention to pursue 2S MP by applying to be placed on 2S team, or final deadline to apply to program chairs to pursue course-based pathway.
- Sept. 4, 2026: Final deadline to register for MP credits or register for course-based pathway courses (need program chair approval).
Master’s Project 3S
Refer to the 3S Timeline at a Glance for the deliverable deadlines associated with this track.
- Feb. 16, 2026: 3S prospectus due to program chair for approval.
- April 1, 2026: Proposal to switch to course-based pathway due to program chairs.
- April 13, 2026: Initial work plan due, or course-based pathway approved.
- Aug. 25, 2026: Opportunity to switch to 2S MP pathway by applying to be placed on 2S team, or opportunity to switch to course-based pathway by submitting proposal form to program chairs for approval.
- Sept. 4, 2026: Final deadline to register for MP credits or register for course-based pathway courses (need program chair approval).
