  • Leaving Duke: Visit the OIT website to learn more about general access after a student leaves the university.

  • Work: If you plan to work in some informal capacity after you graduate, you can ask your sponsor to request continued physical and electronic access – although most of your NetID privileges will stay in effect for a year.

ArcGIS: Changes to ArcGIS Online Terms of Service

Due to new license limits and increased costs, Duke cannot retain ArcGIS Online (AGOL) accounts and portal data after your Duke NetID becomes inactive (one year post‑graduation for students; immediately after the last day for staff/faculty). When your Duke NetID becomes inactive, your ArcGIS Online (AGOL) account and portal data will be removed.

Before your NetID becomes inactive, you must download or remove any AGOL portal files from your account. For grant-related data, project data that will still be in use by others after your departure, or data that supports active web apps that must remain at Duke, you must transfer ownership of this data to another Duke ArcGIS Online user in the portal. If you leave these files in your account, they will be removed when your NetID is inactive.
