Established in July 2016, the FEMA-funded Fire Fighter Cancer Cohort Study (FFCCS) provides a fire service community-engaged national framework to collect and integrate firefighter epidemiologic surveys, biomarkers and exposure data focused on carcinogenic exposures, health effects and cancer prevention. The long-term goal is to follow long-term 10,000 firefighters over a 30-year observation period. Current enrollment exceeds 3,000 firefighters from over 50 departments across 26 states. This seminar will describe the collaborative projects within the FFCCS, findings to date and opportunities for expanded or new partnerships.
