In these sessions, three faculty members discussed their experiences in modifying their assessment practices and how their experiences last year informed their assessment of current practices.

Neurodiversity and Your Classroom

Thursday, October 6, 2022 2 – 3 pm

This session introduced instructors to the concept of neurodiversity and how course policies and course design can allow students with varied learning differences to thrive. Darla Swann, Ph.D., from the Academic Resource Center, explained how neurodiverse students process information differently and how these differences in cognition affect their learning process. Attendees were given strategies to address the needs of neurodiverse students (with a focus on techniques that help all students).
