In just a few weeks, executive education will be traveling to Duke Kunshan University in Jiangsu, China for the Venture Mentoring Program: Introduction to Start-Up Business Planning workshop. The training event will occur December 9-11, 2016.

The 2-day course is led by Dr. Jesko von Windheim, who leads the Environmental Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at the Nicholas School of the Environment,based at Duke University in Durham, NC. Dr. von Windheim is a successful, serial entrepreneur with deep experience in marketing, finance, and start-up operations.

Developed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, this workshop is designed for new entrepreneurs wanting to learn about start-up activities and environmental professionals interested in marketing and business planning.  Participants are provided examples and tools that can be immediately applied to their own career or entrepreneurial venture.

During the workshop, Dr. von Windheim will lead sessions that:

  • Evaluate a business opportunity
  • Identify a value proposition
  • Communicate value to the market/customer base
  • Identify a practical implementation path
  • Develop a plan for execution

Nicholas School Alumni and Friends Social

Please join the Nicholas School’s Admissions Team and the Office of Development & Alumni Relations for an informal opportunity to network and socialize with local alumni and friends of the Nicholas School at the Le Royal Meridien Hotel in Shanghai, China on December 6, 2016 at 7pm.

This event is open to all Nicholas School and Duke Alumni, and their guests. We also welcome all prospective students who have an interest in earning a Master of Environmental Management (MEM) or Master of Forestry (MF) degree at the Nicholas School in Durham, NC USA and those who are mid-career environmental professionals interested in earning a MEM through our online program.

Refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Hosted by Dr. Jesko von Windheim, Professor and Associate Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Allison Besch, MEM ’05, Director of Executive Education.
