Adobe Connect Guide

Adobe Connect is used for all web conference meetings. Please review this QuickStart Guide thoroughly. Adobe Connect is very easy to use, but like all technology, it has its quirks! This guide should help minimize connection and use issues.

Box.com

All Duke University students are automatically signed up for a Box.com user account. Duke’s Box is a cloud-based storage and collaboration service for all Duke University and Duke Medicine faculty, staff and students. With Box, users can access, store and share content securely with Duke and non-Duke users — anywhere, anytime, on any device. More information on Duke’s Box account can be found here, and all students can log in to their account by going to box with their netID and password.

Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts is a relatively new tool for the DEL Program. It is a social networking tool which allows students/faculty to collaborate quickly and easily. Hangouts gives users the ability to meet, share screens, watch videos, chat, share documents, and view presentations. The biggest limitation to Hangouts is participation is limited to 10 active participants, including the initiator. Also, every participant must have an active Gmail account. This tool could be used for smaller course meetings, virtual office hours, and group project meetings.

Steps to create a Gmail account are here. Steps to create a Hangout are here.  Steps to accepting a Hangout invite are here.  Steps to sharing a document or PowerPoint presentation are here.
