Thanks to everybody who joined us for this years first SNAPstorm! This is DukeSNAP’s frequent meeting space where anybody can comfortably present their digital media work, offer new ideas, and share skills.
Shannon Switzer led things off with a “PechaKucha” style presentation, during with 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each… fast-paced and concise is the idea. She showed the group images from her summer trip to the Philippines where she interviewed many members of a small community to get their thoughts on mangrove restoration and climate change.
Next, Ryan Huang led a mini-workshop about the basics of the GIMP image editing software. This is a powerful free software package that offers tools for post-processing photos quickly and effectively.
