Environmental health is a broad, interdisciplinary research field.  Traditionally, environmental health has focused on the impacts of the natural and built environment on human health, but at Duke University, we believe this should also include the health of our various and diverse ecosystems that are intimately connected to human health. Faculty members within the Nicholas School are conducting state-of-the-art research investigating environmental variables that affect human and ecological health, including contaminant exposures, land use changes, climate change, and natural resource management.
