Hi, my name is Evelyn Cupil-Garcia. I am a 9th grader at West Carteret High School, and I am 14 years old. I was born in Morehead City, North Carolina, and I currently live there. My mother works two jobs and my sister is attending Meredith College. My favorite subjects in school are mathematics and science. My favorite class is art, and it is my passion. My biggest challenge in school is grammar. Sometimes grammar is complicated and confuses me. I have been improving my grammar by writing more and asking the teacher for extra practice. The progress I have achieved fills me with exuberance. Accomplishments that I am proud of are going to the National Math League competition and winning 5th place in the Math 2 competition as a group. I am looking forward to learn more about photography and to expand my knowledge in science. I would like to learn more about local environmental problems and find potential solutions to those problems.
