Opportunities

Our lab has several projects underway that present opportunities for undergraduate students seeking research experiences. These opportunities may be perfect for undergraduate independent study experiences or occasionally paid/unpaid internships.

Students in my lab are self-starters, naturally curious and willing to participate in all lab activities, including lab meetings where ideas are shared and projects refined. We want team players. Students are expected to assume a leadership role in their project and – in turn – can expect to be supported through mentorship from myself and senior graduate students in the lab. Students are strongly encouraged to make the time to develop useful products from their endeavors while at Duke. This may include reports to funding agencies, presentations at conferences, publications in the primary literature and digital publications delivered through apps or web technologies.

If you are interested in working on any of these projects, please contact Dave Johnston – david.johnston@duke.edu. Please include your current CV/resume and details on why you would be a good fit for the lab.
