Only September 2017, December 2017 and May 2018 graduates are allowed to participate in the NS Recognition ceremony and process with candidates (on Saturday, May 12 at 9:00am).


  • PhD Hooding Ceremony: Tickets are required and students are encouraged to invite family and friends. The Graduate School sends information about ticket distribution to graduates in early spring. More info available here.
  • Official Ph.D. diplomas will be distributed during the hooding ceremony. If you are not attending the ceremony, you will be able to pick up your diploma beginning May 14 through May 18 from 8:30am to 5:00pm at the Graduate School.
  • Graduation apparel is required for all ceremonies.
  • If special accommodations are needed for the ceremony or reception on Saturday, May 12, contact Cindy Peters no later than April 15.
