North Carolina Maritime Museum

NC Maritime Museum, 315 Front St., Beaufort, NC

The North Carolina Maritime Museum documents, collects, preserves, and researches the maritime history—and its corollary natural history—of coastal North Carolina. In addition to its regular exhibits, the museum offers special educational programs and temporary exhibits to targeted audiences, sponsors music concerts, holds workshops and training programs, distributes brochures, and holds a variety of extracurricular evening and weekend programs. Volunteers are a vital component in museum operations.

The Broad Street Clinic is an entirely volunteer clinic providing medical care for patients with no insurance (or who are under-insured) and who are no more than 200% above the poverty level.  This is an opportunity for students to see how a non-profit organization runs and learn about the health care and non-profit aspects of the operation. www.broadstreetclinic.org
