With 60% of the institutional capital allocated to timberland sourced outside of the US, Duke’s popular Timberland Investments for Professionals short course is heading to London in May 2017.

Chris Zinkhan, lead instructor, MF/MBA ’81, and CEO of The Forestland Group, notes: “As a leading global financial center, London has a significant base of current and prospective institutional investors in real assets such as timberland” who would benefit from the 2-day course, to be held May 2-3, 2017.

Furthermore, Duke has coordinated schedules with the organizers of the RISI International Forest Investment Conference during the first week of May. Both events will be held at the same venue in London, but on different days, offering a unique opportunity for investors to attend the two events as well a joint Duke-RISI networking social planned for May 3.

Instructors for Duke’s course will include veteran timberland investors, forestry specialists, attorneys, accountants, and ecosystem-services consultants from both the US and Europe.  The target market for the course includes institutional investors, foresters, investment analysts, attorneys, accountants, consultants, and other professionals who service participants in the timberland-investment sector.

For its prior three-year history, the course was held on Duke University’s campus in Durham, North Carolina, and featured co-instructors from Hancock Timber Resource Group, Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, and other leading providers in the timberland-investment sector.
