This curriculum, derived from global best practices and featuring interactive and innovative educational styles, is designed for professionals with interest in Coastal Management at all experience levels in the practice of Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning(CMSP).
As a common-pool resource, our coastal and ocean areas require a public and transparent process that allocates space and resources in an effective, efficient, and equitable manner. While the National Ocean Policy directs coastal managers to develop these plans, there is little consensus on how to conduct or implement CMSP. CMSP-Advancement Training is offered to train coastal managers in the CMSP process, and build connections within their peer group, in order to accelerate the use of CMSP in the United States.
Structure
The Online Course will be provided in weekly one-hour interactive synchronous sessions, supported by weekly assignments to be completed as per the participant’s schedule.
