Guidelines for MP Mid-Year Presentations

Guidelines for MP Mid-Year Presentations

Each 2nd year student will deliver a 3-minute talk describing their MP during their 2nd December place-based session. A question and answer period will follow, once all the presentations are completed. Students should prepare 4 PowerPoint slides as follows:

  1. Title, advisor
  2. Question you are examining
  3. Methods, data and analysis to be employed
  4. Preliminary findings and next steps

Delivery of a succinct talk is a critical skill to master. Please be sure that your talk does not last more than 3-minutes, you use no more than the 4 above-defined slides, and that your slides are informative, but not overly busy.

Refer to “Guidelines for Giving a Truly Terrible Talk” in preparing your presentation.
