Seaver Wang is a fourth-year PhD. student in the Cassar lab, originally from Wilton, Connecticut. He graduated in 2014 from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree with honors in Environmental Science before enrolling as a graduate student in Duke University’s Division of Earth and Ocean Sciences.
Seaver’s research is focused on studying the interaction between marine microbial communities and the cycling of carbon and nutrients in the surface ocean using genomic sequencing data.
In addition to his research, Seaver’s interests include sketching, writing, video editing, reading history books, and cheering for Chelsea in the English Premier League.
