Erik Fowler is a Manager of Research & Collaboration programs at Rocky Mountain Institute in Boulder, Colorado. RMI’s strategic focus is transforming global energy use to create a clean, prosperous, and secure energy future, and while emphasizing the critical role of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Erik works across the RMI practice areas of electricity, buildings, and communities. While at RMI, his current major focus area is working with community-led energy and climate planning initiatives in communities such as Palo Alto, CA; Menlo Park, CA; Duluth, MN; and others.

Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI)—an independent, non-partisan nonprofit founded in 1982—advances market-based solutions that transform global energy use to create a clean, prosperous, and secure low-carbon future. It engages businesses, communities, and institutions to cost-effectively shift from fossil fuels to efficiency and renewables. In 2014, RMI merged with Carbon War Room (CWR), and the combined organization now has over 110 professionals, a budget of $25 million, and offices in New York City, Washington D.C., Boulder, Colorado and Snowmass, Colorado.

Spotlight on Careers in the New Energy Economy (Friday, November 6 @ 1:00pm)
During this session, Erik will discuss career fields related to clean-tech, renewables and efficiency, including multiple roles within those areas such as policy, engineering, business, R&D, and entrepreneurship, amongst others.

How to Ace the Case Workshop (Friday, November 6 @ 2:00pm)
Case style interviews, which are commonly used in consulting interviews, is a type of job interview where an applicant is given a problem, situation, or challenge and asked to provide recommendations on how to resolve the situation. RMI also uses Case Interviews in their recruiting process and Erik will train participants on how to effectively navigate and “answer” a Case Interview.
