“Promoting Your Research: Writing a Great Press Release”
A seminar led by Ben Young Landis, Fall 2015 Alumni-In-Residence &
Tim Lucas, Director of Marketing Communications, Nicholas School of the Environment
Thursday, 10/1
8:45 – 10:00 a.m.
Breakfast bars and coffee provided
Environment Hall Board Room
This workshop will allow you to take an in-depth look at how to write a press release and prepare a proper press kit.
This is a more in-depth workshop than Part 1, Working with Duke, where we will focus on crafting the message. The goal is to understand the keys to creating a great public announcement, assembling a press packet, and think about overall media strategy. These are all critical skills whether you’re promoting new research or a new project, and even more so when working for a startup, nonprofit, or grassroots community group.
Come meet Nicholas PIO Tim Lucas, and learn how to work with his office in this process.
